在城市巷战中，火箭筒手，反坦克导弹手都是坦克的大敌。为了有效的抵挡这些武器的破甲弹攻击，叙利亚将其装备的T-72M1坦克进行了改装，为其“穿”上了特制的“铁裙”。这层防护装置可以有效抵挡例如RPG之类的单兵反坦克武器攻击。
